Alcoa’s Steve Emig named Plant Manager at Ferndale location

Alcoa Intalco Works announces Steve Emig has been named Plant Manager of the aluminum smelter in Ferndale, Washington.

Emig has served as Operations Manager at Intalco since August 2018. He succeeds Ron Jorgensen who was returned to Australia. Over the last year, Emig has expertly guided Intalco’s operations in smelting, carbon, maintenance and casting. Before moving to Ferndale, Emig served in leadership roles at Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery in Western Australia and at Alcoa’s alumina refinery in Point Comfort, Texas.

Emig began his career with Alcoa as a Mechanical Engineer in 2007 after graduating from Texas A&M – Kingsville. 

Emig and his wife, Kiely, live in Lynden with their four children.
