Whatcom business leaders recognized at sold-out event

Bellingham, Wash: Wednesday, March 23, 2016 marked the 30th Annual Business Person of the Year Awards Banquet, hosted by Whatcom Business Alliance and held at the Four Points by Sheraton Bellingham, a sold out event with more than 400 guests in attendance.

The event recognizes the achievements of business leaders in the Whatcom business community with four award categories, including Startup Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Whatcom Lifetime Business Achievement Award.

The award winners were:

Startup Business of the Year: Capstone Physical Therapy
The other startup business finalists included: Aslan Brewing and MCUSA Consulting.

 Small Business of the Year: Lynden Sheet Metal
The other small business finalists included: Comphy Company, Data-Link West and Signs Plus.

 Business Person of the Year: Dale Zender, PeaceHealth Chief Executive, Hospital Services, Northwest
The other business person finalists included: Ron Buchinski, Executive Director, Lighthouse Mission, Don Fisher, Co-owner, Lynden Manor and Lynne Henifin, Co-owner, The Henifin Family of Companies.

 Whatcom Lifetime Business Achievement: Jay Bornstein, Chairman of the Board, Bornstein Seafoods
