Peoples Bank Executive Team and Commercial Banking Group Promotions
Peoples Bank announced promotions on its Executive Team and Commercial Banking Groups.
Executive Team Promotions:
Derek Thornton
Derek Thornton was promoted to Executive Vice President while retaining his title of Chief Financial Officer. Derek joined Peoples Bank in 2013 with expertise in finance and accounting and has held leadership roles in retail, small business, and credit. He is accountable for financial management, budgeting, and asset/liability management for the Bank, and oversees the Accounting and Finance/Data Analytics teams.
Derek serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors at Lydia Place and is also on the Board of Directors of the Bellingham Distance Project, a competitive running team. Derek was awarded the Peoples Bank Chairman’s Award for leadership in 2016. He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School and holds bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Political Science and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Washington University.
Kamyar Monsef
Kamyar Monsef was promoted to Executive Vice President while retaining his title of Chief Retail Banking Officer. Kamyar joined Peoples Bank in June 2020. He brings more than 20 years of banking experience, specifically focused on retail banking and consumer/mortgage lending.
Kamyar holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Communications from Western Washington University and graduated with honors from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. He also completed the Washington Bankers Association Executive Development Program.
Commercial Banking Group Promotions:
Aldi Kllogjeri
Aldi Kllogjeri was promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. Aldi joined Peoples Bank in March 2019 and has served as a commercial banker in Skagit County for 20 years. He is a member of the Skagit/Island Commercial Banking Group and supports the Burlington retail team. Aldi’s knowledge of commercial banking and deep relationships with his clients has led to tremendous growth in loans and deposits.
Aldi is a member of the Sedro-Woolley Rotary Club and serves as board treasurer for the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation. He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Washington State University.
Drew Smith
Drew Smith was promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. Drew joined Peoples Bank in February 2019 and has served as a commercial banker in the Bellingham market for over ten years. He is a top deposit and loan producer and has brought several valued client relationships to the Bank. Drew has a bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Western Washington University.
Erin Schlegel
Erin Schlegel was promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. Erin joined Peoples Bank in May 2014 and has more than 20 years of banking experience with expertise in lending, deposit, and treasury management for commercial customers. Erin is based at the Edmonds Office and has contributed to its efforts to become a top branch in the Edmonds market.
Grant Hauber
Grant Hauber was promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer. Grant has been with Peoples Bank for over 16 years, having served the Bellingham Commercial Banking Group as a Commercial Credit Analyst prior to his promotion to Commercial Banking Officer in 2014. Grant is an excellent producer and client manager with an in-depth knowledge of credit underwriting and loan structuring. Grant holds bachelor’s degrees in Finance and Accounting from Washington State University.
