Peoples Bank announces two new appointments

Peoples Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Hefter to the Peoples Bank and Peoples Bancorp Board of Directors. An executive with nearly 30 years of experience in community banking, Hefter has been involved in all facets of bank management and has contributed to the company’s tenfold growth during her tenure. Today, Peoples Bank is a locally owned and operated, independent full-service community bank with over $2 billion in assets.

Hefter started her banking career at Peoples Bank in 1992. She was named Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative & Risk Officer in early 2020, after serving as Chief Financial Officer for over ten years. In her current role, Hefter is responsible for directing the Bank’s administrative and operational activities and oversees enterprise risk management.

Peoples Bank also announced the appointment of Alina Coonc as Vice President, Small Business Loan Officer at the Barkley Financial Center. Alina has 16 years of experience in the financial services industry with a specialization in commercial lending.

“I enjoy meeting business owners in the community to learn about the opportunities and challenges they are facing and how I can help them meet their financial goals,” said Alina. “I am always available to listen, offer guidance, and serve as a trusted advisor to our customers.”

Born in Shymkent, Kazakhstan, Alina has lived and worked in Whatcom County for 20 years. She is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School, the premier national graduate school of banking, and completed the Washington Bankers Association Executive Development Program. She is fluent in English and Russian.
